The R. Kirk Landon Learning Center is located at 1015 Tumlin Street, near the intersection of 10th and State streets. The childcare center is designed for 120 children from six weeks in age to preschool. Eighty-five percent of the spaces are reserved for Georgia Tech employees and students, and fifteen percent are for community use with priority given to Home Park residents.
Childcare Center Hours
The center is open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Who is eligible to use the center?
Any child who is a legal dependent of a Georgia Tech student, faculty, staff, or a member of the Home Park community may enroll in the R. Kirk Landon Learning Center.
What enrollment options are available? What is the cost?
Priority is given to full-time enrollment for families needing
childcare five days a week. If you only need occasional childcare, you
may use the center for back-up care when space is available. Please call
ahead to arrange for childcare. The cost is based on the number of days
and hours of care.
What is the teacher-to-child ratio and group size?
The R. Kirk Landon Learning Center offers teacher-child ratios that are lower than state licensing requirements. We follow ratios recommended by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
- Infants: 1:4 ratio (2 teachers/8 children per room)
- Toddlers: 1:5 ratio (2 teachers/10 children per room)
- Twos: 1:6 ratio (2 teachers/12 children per room)
- Preschool: 1:10 ratio (2 teachers/20 children per room)
