Tell Us Why Tech Is A Great Place To Work

Message from Dr. Peterson

Dear Colleague,

As part of a commitment to continuous improvement, Georgia Tech will participate for the fourth year in a row in the Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges to Work For” assessment. An important aspect of the program is a survey that will be e-mailed to a randomly-selected, representative sample of Georgia Tech’s full-time faculty and professional staff.

Specifically designed for higher education and administered by ModernThink, LLC, the survey measures the strength of organizational competencies as well as relationships that most directly impact and influence the institution’s culture. Survey results will be included as part of the overall scoring process, with results announced by the Chronicle this summer.

The Georgia Tech Institutional Review Board (IRB) has reviewed this project and has given approval for its content. ModernThink will hold individual responses in confidence to the extent allowed by law, but does provide a summary report to participating universities. Data will also be used by Georgia Tech to help determine priority areas for further enhancements to the university working environment.

More information about the survey and process is available at www.ohr.gatech.edu/greatplacestowork and the Chronicle of Higher Education’s Great Colleges website, www.chroniclegreatcolleges.com. In addition, faculty and staff can contact Georgia Tech’s Office of Human Resources at 404-894-4847 or greatcolleges.ask@ohr.gatech.edu. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, you may contact Ms. Melanie Clark, Georgia Institute of Technology Office of Research Compliance, at 404-894-6942.

Many thanks for your support and participation.

G.P. “Bud” Peterson
