Overview
Georgia Tech is proud to offer our employees a
comprehensive benefit package. Each year, you have the opportunity to
review the plans you are enrolled in and to make changes as needed.
This is the time of year to start evaluating your plans and make
appropriate changes during the Open Enrollment period which will be held October 26 – November 20. Changes you make to your benefits during this time will become effective January 1, 2010.
Open Enrollment Process & Schedule
This year, Georgia Tech has made enhancements to the voluntary benefits and will open up enrollment for faculty and staff who are not currently participating in these plans. Also, the Board of Regents has made some important changes with respect to the medical and dental plans (see What's Changing for 2010). Because of these factors and our current economic environment, Georgia Tech has a new process for this year's Open Enrollment. Each employee will have the opportunity to speak to a certified benefit counselor to work one on one with all faculty and staff through a personalized process.
Process Steps:
- Each employee must speak with a certified benefit counselor to enroll in benefits for 2010.
- View enrollment schedule, contact information for your certified benefit counselor and items you will need during your personalized session. Learn more>>
- Employees in the following departments can view their enrollment
schedule and items to bring during their personalized session. Learn more >>
- Housing Services, Building Services, Athletics Department, Landscaping Services, Parking Services, Energy and Utilies Services, and Security and Police
- Once you have enrolled and have waited 48 hours from your
personalized session, confirm your elections by viewing your
confirmation statement at www.myUbenefits.com. Your benefit counselor will provide you with login information. To be taken to your personal benefits confirmation page:
- Click on the "Click Here" link where indicated to register.
- Complete the new user registration form
- Click on the "Create my account" button
- Reminder – you must enroll to ensure you have the correct benefit plans for you and your family for 2010. If you are currently enrolled in the FSA and do not re-enroll, your election will be waived for 2010.
- Review your first paystub in 2010 to ensure the proper deductions are being made. If there is a discrepancy, you must notify the Benefits Team by February 1, 2010 for an adjustment to be made
