Overview and Rationale
|
The prolonged economic recession has created difficult circumstances for the Georgia Tech community, particularly for those earning $30,000 per year or below. Rising costs for transportation, healthcare, and other living expenses means employees are faced with tough circumstances. Georgia Tech leadership believes it is important, to the degree possible, to mitigate these circumstances for those most financially challenged during these difficult times. Offering support to these members of our community is the right thing to do. Therefore, President G.P. "Bud" Peterson has approved a plan for a modest but necessary salary adjustment for full-time permanent classified staff who earn $30,000 or less per year.
